“If you want to be good, do what a dog would do. If you want to be right, I can’t help you.”

“Do what you want, and do what you must, and don’t do anything else.”

“Don’t believe anything a dog says. Just watch and be still.”

About Margaret

There have been many philosopher-dogs over the centuries. But Margaret the Pug is the first to master the trick of collaborating with a human translator.

Her motivation for writing A Dog’s Book of Wisdom was both simple and pure: to make people happier. Because happy people tend to give their dogs more treats.

This is probably a good place to mention that Margaret also appears to be the reincarnation of French Renaissance philosopher and writer Michel de Montaigne, inventor of the personal essay.
